13. mysterious flames, web
This Flash website is a continuation of the original project, the Mysterious Flames installation. The site was developed with feedback from John Caserta during Open Research, and with technical advice from Mary-Jo Valentino.

Flashlight as fog light in the adaptation to Flash interactive website. The mouse tracks the light as the user navigates this page, looking for links.

In the Flash site, visitors are still invited to play and are still cued in to the idea that perhaps they are watching themselves or remembering or questioning whether they have been in this place and done these actions before.

Ultimately the navigation of the site is a search for light, or illumination. When the visitor is finally allowed to turn on the light in the Flash version of the room, key elements in the construction of the site are revealed, as well as citations made to source materials.
